Statement

My work begins with an idea and I have only recently discovered that it doesn't end with the completion of the work itself. The work itself, if not mostly abstract at least tends to lean towards abstraction in form or idea. I have in my early work, used a lot of architecture in not necessarily abstract forms but my work has continued to become increasingly abstract ever since then, although I feel there is still a strong style constant. I have tried to stay away from being known for a prominent style, as my inspirations are so very eclectic. Although I can't claim to have been extremely successful with this, it has fortunately resulted in a very diverse set of works. My work has also over the years seemed to drift from simplistic images to the minimalist, while all the time trying to weave a strong fabric of interwoven subtleties within the work itself. In trying to redefine perspective, my work has also lingered between great architecture and the usually unnoticed surroundings of our daily lives. This must be because of my struggle to define the word 'animate' for myself. After just having shown works from a series dealing with the curve as a form, in my current series, I have found my way back to straight lines and architectural forms of the kind with mirrored montages and graphic renditions.
