Statement

Found books from Mumbai streets, littered books, everything is impermanent, knowledge, memory stops and anything and everything is impermanent. I was trying to mummify the moments of decay. These works are recreated memories of my old works. So then I call them ‘Ghost’.

Biography

Born 1963 in Kerala, Bose completed his B.F.A from Sir J.J.School of Art, Mumbai and received the Charles Wallace India Trust Award to do his Masters at Goldsmiths College, London in 1990-2000. He has held eight solo shows, including one at the British Council, Mumbai and at the National Gallery of Modern Art, also in Mumbai. He has also participated in several group shows in Mumbai, New Delhi and Tokyo. During the last few years he has received many accolades and is a recipient of the Kerala Lalitha Kala Academi Award, Bombay Art Society Prize, Mid America Arts Alliance Award, First Runner up at Bose Pacia Modern Biannual, New York, besides others. Voted as ‘Face of 93’ in the field of Visual Art by ‘Illustrated Weekly of India’, he lives and works in Mumbai.
