Anita Dube

Biography

Born 1958, Lucknow, took B.A. (honors) in History, from University of Delhi (1979) and studied M.F.A. in Art Criticism, Faculty of Fine Arts from M.S. University, Baroda (1982).

She has had solo exhibition of her works since 1992, with her most recent ones being ‘Babel: New Works by Anita Dube, Galerie Dominique Fiat, Paris in 2011; ‘Kal/Tomorrow’, Lakeeren Art Gallery, Mumbai in 2010; ‘Recent Works’, Bose Pacia Gallery, New York in 2008; ‘Inside Out’, Bombay Art Gallery, Mumbai in 2007; ‘Phantoms of Liberty’, Gallery Almine Rech, Paris in 2007.

Her works have also been part of many group exhibitions that include, ‘Red’, Palette Art Gallery, New Delhi in 2011; ‘Biennale Jogia XI’, Jogja National Museum, Indonesia in 2011; ‘Tolstoy Farm :Archive of Utopia’, presented by Seven Art Gallery at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi in 2011; ‘Indian (Sub) Way’, Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi; Grosvenor Vadehra, London in 2010; ‘Crossroads : India Escalate’, India Pavilion at Prague Biennale 5 in 2011.

In 2007, the artist completed a residency culminating in a group exhibition at the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh.She lives and works in New Delhi.

Biography

Born in Burdwan, West Bengal in 1971. She did her post-graduation in Painting from Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan in 1997. She also did One Ė year program at Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, U.K in 2001. She has had more than 10 solo shows in India and abroad since Can We Really Look Beyond the Map?, New Delhi in 2000 to her recent show I Dig, I Look Down, London in 2008. Biography

Born in New Delhi in 1969, she completed her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in painting from College of Art, New Delhi in 1991 and 1995 respectively. After starting with the solo show, 'Paper Works', New Delhi in 1996, Pooja has held 'House Of Cards', New Delhi in1999, 'Reflections', London in 2002 and 'Metamorphic Mathematics', Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi in 2003-2004, besides participating in several group shows in India and abroad which include 'Towards Abstraction', New Delhi in 2005; 'Negotiating Matters/s', New Delhi in 2005 and 43rd National Exhibition, Bangalore in 2001. Pooja received a Junior Fellowship in 1998-1999 and a National Scholarship 1992-95, by the Government of India and is also the recipient of Charles Wallace India Trust Award in 2002 and Garhi Grant by Lalit Kala Academi in 2003-2004.She lives and works in New Delhi.
