Kishor Shinde

Biography

Born in 1958, completed his Diploma in painting from MSU, Baroda. He has participated in various solo and group shows and exhibitions in Delhi and Hyderabad and has also, in addition is an awardee of Lalit Kala Akademi and the Gujarat State Lalit Kala award. He lives and works in New Delhi.

Laxma Goud

Laxma Goud

Biography

Born in 1940, Nizampur (Andhra Pradesh), Laxma Goud completed his Diploma in Drawing and Painting from Government College of Fine Arts and Architecture, Hyderabad in 1963 and did his Post-Diploma in mural painting and printmaking at M. S. University, Baroda from 1963-1965, where he worked under Professor K. G. Subramanyan. He was Head of the Department at the Sarojini Naidu School of Performing Arts, Fine Art and Communication, University of Hyderabad for several years. He was appointed as a Graphic Designer at Doordarshan for 15 years. He has been awarded the State Lalit Kala Award, Andhra Pradesh; Silver & Gold Medal by Hyderabad Art Society. He had his first solo exhibition in his hometown in 1965 and has held numerous exhibitions since then. Some of his important exhibitions include the Tokyo Print Biennale, Japan, 1976; Sao Paulo Biennale, Brazil, 1977; the Royal Academy of Art, London, 1982. He lives and works in Hyderabad and Jaipur.

Mayank Shyam

Mayank Shyam

Biography

Born in 1987 Mayank Shyam was initiated into painting by his late father Jangarh Singh Shyam. At 23 he is one of the youngest members of the Jangarh School. He has participated in a number of artist camps organized by Eklavya Book Publication, Bhopal (2004), Vanya Prakashan, Bhopal (2006) etc. He participated in his first group exhibition Primal Force (2006) at Kolkata’s CIMA Gallery at the age of 19. Previously His other group shows include Kolkata Freedom : Sixty years after Indian Independence, CIMA Gallery, Kolkata and Museum Gallery, Mumbai  (2008), In search of context, CIMA Gallery , Kolkata and Chemould Gallery, Mumbai (2009), Yeh Image Mahan – India meets Bharat, CIMA Gallery, Kolkata (2010) etc. His works were also included in the Indian Contemporary Art auction at Sotheby’s, New York, organized for the benefit of Kolkata Museum of Modern Art. In 2006 Mayank was conferred the state award by the Hasta Shilpa Evam Hathkargha Vikas Nigam, Bhopal.

Narayan Chandra Sinha

Biography



Statement

Born in 1977, Sinha completed his Bachelors in Science from Calcutta University.

 

Narayan has held over 12 solo shows his works since 2000. His recent ones include; ‘Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Kolkata in 2008; ’The Address’, Kolkata in 2008; ’Sonar Bangla’, Kolkata in 2007; ‘Gufa Art Gallery, Ahmedabad in 2006; ’Jahangir Art Gallery’, Mumbai in 2005; ’Academy of Fine Arts , Kolkata in 2005.

 

He has also displayed his works at several group exhibitions the recent ones including; ‘Harmony Show’, Mumbai in 2006; ‘Birla Academy of Art & Culture-Open Air Painting Exhibition, Kolkata in 2004;  ’Annual Exhibition of Birla Academy of Art & Culture’, Kolkata in 2003,2005 & 2006; ‘Durga Exhibition (La Mera), Kolkata in 2002 & 2004.

 

He lives and works in Kolkata.

S. Harsha Vardhana

S. Harsha Vardhana

Biography

Born 1958 in New Delhi, Harsha did his M.Sc. in Bio Science from The Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences, Pilani in 1980 and diploma in Business Management. He is a self taught artist and held his solo exhibitions at Singapore; Chennai; Mumbai and thrice in New Delhi. He has also participated in several group shows across India and abroad including First Biennale of Contemporary Art, Romania in 2005; Indian artist for France, New Delhi Young contemporary artists, New Delhi in 2004; 2D / 3D, Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, Hong Kong in 2003; Chennai and Mumbai in 2002; New Delhi in 2001; Post Modern Indian Art, USA in 1997; Bharat Bhawan Biennial of Contemporary Indian Art, Bhopal in 1996. He lives and works in New Delhi.

Shuvaprasanna

Shuvaprasanna

Biography

Born 1947 in Calcutta, Shuva graduated from the Indian College of Art, Kolkata and received his subsequent training in printmaking at workshops including those in USA and Germany. An active member of the Calcutta Paintersí Group, Shuva is a teacher, facilitator and painter all in one. His work has been exhibited in over 30 solo shows and many more group exhibitions in India and abroad including those held at the Birla Academy Calcutta, Gallery Les Hirondelles Geneva, Sothebyís and Arts India New York, Christies London and IGNCA New Delhi. He has also participated in a number of international projects, workshops and art camps, more important amongst which are the Museum of Modern Art, Sitomo, Japan; Horniman Museum London and the German Festival in India. He has a number of awards and publications to his credit including the AIFACS, State LKA and Birla Academy Awards. His work can be seen in many public and private collections in India and abroad including the NGMA and LKA, Delhi; Air India; Times of India Group and WHO Geneva. Shuva lives and works in Kolkata.
