In a photorealistic manner, Debraj constructs an image that narrates the negotiations between knowledge of Art and its twisted interpretations. Born in 1973 in Serampore, West Bengal, Debraj presently lives and works in Baroda, Gujarat. He completed his BFA from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata (1997) and MFA from M.S.U, Baroda (1999). He has had three solo shows of his works at Recycled masterpieces, New Delhi & My Experience with Half Truth, Mumbai in 2006 and Don't / Please Take it otherwise, Mumbai in 2001. He has participated in several group shows across India and abroad prominent being Emerging India, presented by Art Alive Gallery and S.A. Fine Arts, London, held at London in 2007, 6th Bharat Bhavan International Print Biennale, Bhopal in 2004; F-N_FN Auction by Neville Tuli, NCPA, Mumbai (2003), 4th Egyptian Print Triennale, Egypt (2003). He has received the Charles Wallace (India) Trust fellowship to work and visit in the UK in 2001. He lives and work in Baroda.
