Yash Jani

Yash Jani, born in 1995, studied Graphic Arts (Print Making) from MSU Baroda, Gujarat. For the past few years, he has been living in Ahmedabad and working in the heart of its heritage -Amdavad Ni pol, on the street and its culture, the architecture, form,  subject, space and spiritual life of old Ahmedabad. Through his art, he attempts to open a window between the viewers and the life in the old streets displaying the daily chores and beauty of pol very candidly. He works on paper, canvas and wood with ink, watercolour, pencil, mixed media, graphics-printmaking and charcoal.

Yash Jani has been awarded with the Honourable Mention 2021 Award, Organised by Lalit kala Akademi, New Delhi, at the 2nd International Print Biennale India. He has been awarded several other awards and Scholarships in Ahmedabad and Delhi. Yash has been showcasing his works in several group shows which include The Group Show of Ganesha And Buddha by Amaara Art and Studio Ahmedabad, Gujarat 2015, Abir Annual Show Ahmedabad, Gujarat 2016, Lalit Kala Akademi, 58th National Exhibition of Art at NGMA, Bengaluru 2017, Charity Show (Kerala Flood), NGMA, Delhi 2018, EMBARK Vol – II at gallery Ark, Baroda, Gujarat 2019, Goa Affordable Art Fest GAAF at Museum of Goa 2020, Works in Exile, Urmila Art Gallery, Gujarat 2021, The 2nd Print Biennale India 2021 Exhibition organised by Lalit kala Akademi, New Delhi, India at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2021, “Kshetram” Group Show Exhibition, Gujarat 2022, Contemporary Manifestations Painting & Sculptures, Archer Art Gallery Ahmedabad 2022. Most recently, Yash Jani was part of ‘Reveries of Quaintness’, a group show by Art Alive Gallery in 2023.
