COLLECTORS WEEKEND | Edition 2

14th August 2020 - 28th August 2020

Art Alive Gallery is pleased to announce the second edition of Collectors Weekend, an art initiative that aims to brighten up your weekend with specially selected art transcending across various genres.

In the second edition of Collectors Weekend, we are pleased to bring to you an exclusive selection of artworks by Prabhakar Kolte, Gopi Gajwani, Jayasri Burman, Shobha Broota and Maite Delteil.

Influenced by the Swiss artist, Paul Klee, Prabhakar Kolte’s distinct style has evolved over a period of time. Exploring the form of pure colour in space, Kolte’s bright canvases have an identity of their own. As an influential name in abstract and expressionist art, the artist treats his canvas as a free space to play with conceptual ideas of colour and form.

The abstractionist aesthetic of Gopi Gajwani is reflective of his unique style which can be identified by squares and rectangular grids that dominate his canvas. The impressionistic brush strokes and texture of the artworks establish a connection with the audience, probing them to connect with their inner emotions. The graceful fluidity of the hues that forms Gajwani’s palette attempt to celebrate the mysterious beauty of life.

Taking inspiration from the simplicities of nature, Jayasri Burman’s artworks carry a folk expression which is often woven into a strong women-centric narrative. The lyrical mysticism of Burman’s works renders it extraordinary and shapes her unique style.

The meditative nature of ShobhaBroota’s canvases draw creativity from her personal experiences. The discipline of her oeuvre is beautifully rendered in the artist’s brush strokes that have underlying philosophical connotations. Broota’s art is classified by a unique sense of organization that largely depicts the artist’s celebrated style that binds the viewer to look beyond the ordinary and connect with the world around them.

Maite Delteil’s paintings also traverses the same space as the artist dives into her memories to recreate visions of her past through her vibrant canvases. Her affinity with nature is aptly captured in her work which depicts nature in its purest form.
