Jigsaw, Fragments of Chronicles

Jigsaw, fragments of chronicles looks through the works of three eminent artists, Surendran Nair, Vivek Vilasini and B Manjunath Kamath and their artistic inquiries into the ever-changing and dynamic space of life with its myriad transcendental cycles.

For Vivek Vilasini, there is constant intersection between observed and imagined reality; he creates intrinsic visual commentaries that revolve around the physical world and human social behaviour, often using humour and irony as narrative devices. Touching upon salient twists in the interpretation of social history, Surendran Nair produces modern myths that acknowledge the presence of alternative worlds and human truths; a kind of magical realism pervades his picture planes. B Manjunath Kamath works with a sense of creative symbolism that renders his visual imagery in a fluid form constantly engaging with various themes including buildings, animals, urban and social contexts creating a mise-en-scene that suggests a fragmented form of universal storytelling.

Together, the three artists weave diverse narratives that come together chronicling the various fragments of social and cultural identities often using humour and wit as their apparatus.
