Art Alive Gallery presents ‘Art NOW 18!’ a group exhibition of 35 artists portraying the contemporary Indian art trends.

Art Now is a yearly event which will document the art practices of various artists every year as all the works will be specially created by the artists for the show.

Art Alive started the series ‘Art NOW’ in 2016. The 1st Edition of ‘Art NOW’ was held in 2016 in Mumbai at the Jehangir Art Gallery and the 2nd Edition in Delhi at Lalit Kala Akademi.

Both the editions of ‘Art NOW’ were hugely successful and very well appreciated as it showcased a panorama of works by some of the finest Indian artists. ‘Art NOW’ highlighted the current art trends and focused on important emerging artists styles. Both the shows were attended by eminent people from all fraternities, art connoisseurs and artists.

The exhibition ‘Art NOW’ is about art today. The show focuses on current art practices and how they have evolved over the last few years. Contemporary art is reaching out to a larger audience and globally evolving. The artists have been experimenting with newer mediums and are responding to the environment around them. The show will highlight the signature style of each artist, depicting the current cultural and global influences on Indian art, thus focusing on the current art movement. This will document the art practices of various artists every year as all the works will be especially created by the artists for the show.

To document the constant change in the art world, we plan to bring out a pictorial Volume every 5th year that will showcase all the works of artists exhibited in the last 5 years. The first volume will be released in 2020.
